Dr Rosie McLaren is a psychoanalytically orientated psychotherapist, counsellor and supervisor in private practice in Perth, Western Australia.

Rosie’s formal qualifications include a PhD, an ‘Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapy’ and a ‘Graduate Diploma in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy’. The philosophical framework for her doctoral thesis was presented using phenomenological viewpoints and research methodologies.

As a practitioner, Rosie draws on a range of psychotherapy skills and principles. Moreover, although her primary training is psychoanalytic, she incorporates existential, transpersonal, mindfulness, body-oriented and phenomenological approaches when working with her clients. Dr McLaren has particular expertise in assisting people who have experienced various forms of psychological and physical trauma particularly in early childhood.

Rosie has over 30 years of teaching experience and group facilitation, and is currently Director of Training at ‘The Perth School of Psychotherapy and Counselling’.

Before qualifying as a psychotherapist Dr McLaren enjoyed successful careers as a professional potter, artist, writer, published author and teacher.
