Dr Assie Gildenhuys has an ongoing and long-term teaching and research interest in the theoretical field of group analysis and the applied field of larger group constellations. Additionally, he is actively involved in community projects, applying group format training and experiential learning. Assie also has a keen interest in understanding the nature of the impact of social trauma and social transition on relations in group settings.

Over the years, Dr Gildenhuys has explored context-specific formulations regarding small and larger group settings, with the aim of establishing better informed clinical practice and research applications in this field.

Assie consults in the organizational and institutional field and is involved in the development of a distance-learning international project.

Dr Gildenhuys is presently a board member of the International Association of Group Psychotherapy and Group Process (IAGP).
